Okay, you got me! This is not an "article", per say, but just my brief thoughts, or a stream of consciousness, of my takeaways from NFL players protesting during national anthem.
It's cleaner to have the thoughts in a clickable link than a long winded status.
As posted on my Facebook, here are my thoughts below.
"while there may be better ways to protest, it's appalling to learn that a healthy amount of people still don't know what's being protested...social injustice/inequality...
...IMO, it was never about disrespecting the anthem, and rather about bringing awareness to a prevalent issue to open the door for discussions of how to fix the problem...
...with that being said, i don't think its accurate to label protesting social injustice/inequality as "political" more so than a human/civil rights issue...
...when you have the president condemning NFL players for protesting, and then advocating for the free speech of those responsible for Charlottesville, it points toward what is being protested...social injustice/inequality...
...i don't have the answer, but i think people should understand why players are protesting before assuming the worst."
